Baseball Recap: Berlin Comes Up Short

Berlin extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Inter-Lakes Lakers. Even if the Mountaineers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for Inter-Lakes, they moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Inter-Lakes' part, Cash Frontiero was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jake Ambrose, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Berlin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-3 defeat against Prospect Mountain on the 7th. As for Inter-Lakes, they have also already played their next matchup, an 11-10 victory against Hillsboro-Deering on the 7th.
