Baseball Game Preview: Eleva-Strum Cardinals vs. Fall Creek Crickets

The Eleva-Strum Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Fall Creek Crickets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eleva-Strum will be strutting in after a win while Fall Creek will be coming in after a defeat.

Fall Creek will be up against a hot Eleva-Strum squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 13. The Cardinals came out on top against Independence/Gilmanton by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday. Three seems to be a good number for the Cardinals as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Not much got past Noah Martinson, who gave up just seven hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Independence/Gilmanton off the board.

On the hitting side, Ty Fjelstad was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fall Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Arcadia on Tuesday and fell 7-6. The Crickets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eleva-Strum's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fall Creek, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Eleva-Strum suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Fall Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2019. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
