Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Falcons vs. Dublin Gaels

Foothill hasn't had much luck against Dublin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Foothill Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Dublin Gaels at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Foothill is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since January 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Dougherty Valley, falling 62-37. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Wildcats are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, Dublin fought the good fight in their overtime contest against California on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to the Grizzlies. The Gaels' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Dublin's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-2. As for Foothill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Foothill might still be hurting after the 58-35 defeat they got from Dublin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Foothill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
