Softball Game Preview: Conrad Chargers vs. Kimball Knights

The Conrad Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Kimball Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Conrad will be strutting in after a victory while Kimball will be coming in after a defeat.

Conrad played against Roosevelt on Friday and won via forfeit.

Kimball is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They lost 19-11 to Lincoln.

Alissa Talamantes and Desarai Sosa stepped up to the plate in a big way. Talamantes scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Sosa scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kimberly Gonzales, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Conrad and bumps their season record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Kimball, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Everything went Conrad's way against Kimball in their previous matchup back in March, as Conrad made off with a 25-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
