Football Recap: Strong Performance on D from Jordan Spears and Lane Sheffield Leads Bell over Old Plank Christian Academy + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake Weir, Bell was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders by a score of 21-12. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Defenders, too.

Bell can attribute much of their success to Landin Williams, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD. Rj Leffler was in the mix as well, providing the Bulldogs with two scores.

Bell didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Old Plank Christian Academy to a completion percentage of just 30%. The team can thank Jordan Spears for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bell wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 75%.

Bell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Spears and Lane Sheffield. With that strong performance, Spears is now averaging an impressive 6 total tackles per game. Fran Kealey was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (1.5 for loss).

Despite the loss, Old Plank Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Termayne Tukes, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Bell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bell will head out to challenge Dixie County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, they will challenge Seven Rivers Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
