Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Hartley Hawks vs. Bishop Watterson Eagles

For the second straight game, Bishop Hartley will face off against Bishop Watterson. The Hawks will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m.

Bishop Hartley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bishop Watterson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

For Bishop Watterson's part, Noah Lawler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Lawler has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Watterson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Burleson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Burleson has hit this season.

Bishop Watterson pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
