Holy Cross proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Kentucky Country Day Bearcats 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Holy Cross saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Lanham, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Holy Cross is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kentucky Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will venture away from home to challenge Trinity Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kentucky Country Day, they will head out to face off against Whitefield Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
