Softball Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short

Palmyra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 15-11 to the Carlisle Thundering Herd. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thundering Herd this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 back in March.

Emerson Gingrich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Walmer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Carlisle, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1-1.

Looking ahead, Palmyra will face off against Lower Dauphin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carlisle, they will be playing at home against Red Land at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
