Basketball Game Preview: Hopewell Vikings vs. Blackhawk Cougars

Hopewell hasn't had much luck against Blackhawk recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hopewell Vikings will welcome the Blackhawk Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Hopewell sitting on three straight wins and Blackhawk on six.

On Monday, Hopewell strolled past Hampton with points to spare, taking the game 38-20.

Meanwhile, Blackhawk humbled Ambridge with a 67-14 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Blackhawk pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Hopewell, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Hopewell took a serious blow against Blackhawk when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 48-15. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hopewell was down 34-6.
