Basketball Recap: Maywood CES Takes a Loss

Maywood CES was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 65-24 loss at the hands of the Marquez Gladiators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 91-29 back in January.

Marquez's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Nunez, who went 6 of 11 to rack up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Andres Barajas, who went 5 for 9 en route to 16 points.

Maywood CES's record is now 0-13. As for Marquez, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sotomayor the next time they take the court. Marquez will head out to face Sotomayor at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Maywood CES will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
