Cortez is 1-9 against Dysart since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cortez posted their biggest win since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 77-56 margin over Tempe. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cortez.
Devan Fowler was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ulysses Espinoza, who scored 24 points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Dysart gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Apache Junction 86-42 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Dysart as they're now sitting on four straight.
Nigel Anderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Zane Connelly was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
The victory got Cortez back to even at 8-8. As for Dysart, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
