Basketball Recap: Erwin's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

If Enka wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Erwin, they should've done a better job of containing Carson Wallace. The Erwin Warriors blew past the Enka Jets 87-66 on Friday thanks in part to Wallace, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 29 points along with six boards and five assists. Those five assists gave him a new career-high.

Enka's loss came despite strong showings from Logan Trantham and Lawson Mcclure. Trantham posted 22 points and five rebounds, while Mcclure went 8 for 15 en route to 22 points. Trantham's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hyatt Middleton, who put up six points.

With the victory, Erwin broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10. As for Enka, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Erwin will welcome Asheville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Erwin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Enka, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against A.C. Reynolds at 8:00 p.m. A.C. Reynolds will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Enka surely won't give up without a fight.
