Baseball Game Preview: Carter Green Hornets vs. Clinton Dragons

Carter is a perfect 4-0 against Clinton since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Carter Green Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Clinton Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Clinton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Carter, who comes in off a win.

While Carter's win against Sequoyah wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Carter skirted past Sequoyah 7-6. The Green Hornets haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Ethan Lane was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cainan Crowe, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Chandler Bowman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Clinton came up short against Karns on Monday and fell 6-3.

The win got Carter back to even at 2-2. As for Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Carter took their victory against Clinton when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 7-1. Does Carter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clinton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
