Basketball Recap: Anita Nwosu's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pearland over Seven Lakes

Pearland has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to the Seven Lakes Spartans on the road by a 48-33 margin on Friday. The Oilers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Several Oilers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anita Nwosu, who posted 11 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Taylor, who earned seven points and seven boards.

Pearland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Seven Lakes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Pearland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-36 win against Boswell on the 22nd. As for Seven Lakes, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-37 loss against Barbers Hill on the 22nd.
