South Webster extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 3-17. They came up short against the Adena Warriors, falling 9-3. The Jeeps were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Jaiden White was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
White wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addi Claxon, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Adena, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.
Like South Webster, Adena also got a great game from a two-way player: Allie Bossert. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Bossert a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Josie Mallow and Braelyn Ratzlaff did most of the damage at the plate: Mallow went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Ratzlaff went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was Ratzlaff's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Marly Halcomb, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Looking ahead, South Webster will take on Nelsonville-York in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Adena, they will face off against Washington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
