St. Joseph won the last time they faced Gull Lake and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears breezed past the Blue Devils to the tune of 46-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bears' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 393rd).

Despite the loss, Gull Lake still got an impressive performance from Zac Pfennig, who rushed for 44 yards and one score, and also threw for 209 yards on 18 of 31 attempts.

The victory got St. Joseph back to even at 2-2. As for Gull Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will challenge Lakeshore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bears' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Gull Lake, they will take on Portage Northern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
