Volleyball Recap: Elk River Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Maple Grove

Elk River faced Maple Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Elks fell 3-1 to the Crimson. The Elks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crimson earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Maple Grove found their leader in sophomore Jonathan He, who had 17 digs and four assists. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for He.

Elk River has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Maple Grove, they pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Elk River nor the Crimson have any future games scheduled.
