Football Game Preview: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Basic Wolves + How To Watch

The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks will take on the Basic Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Desert Oasis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Foothill, who was ranked 11th at the time (Desert Oasis was ranked 19th). The Diamondbacks took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons on Friday. The Diamondbacks gained 76 more yards on the day, but it was the Falcons that made the best use of them.

Despite their defeat, Desert Oasis saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kyair Thomas, who rushed for 138 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 35 receiving yards, was perhaps the best of all. Another receiver making a difference was Anthony Sarracino, who picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Basic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Liberty 49-7. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Basic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Desert Oasis, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Desert Oasis lost to Basic at home by a decisive 14-0 margin when the teams last played back in August of 2022. Can the Diamondbacks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
