Baseball Recap: Lenoir City Has No Trouble Against Sequoyah

Lenoir City was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sequoyah on Monday. The Panthers blew past the Chiefs 14-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ryne Myers was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Collin Sharp was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Lenoir City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lenoir City's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Sequoyah, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Lenoir City will host Sequatchie County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sequoyah will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' contest: after the Panthers faces off against the Indians, they'll take on Sequoyah again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
