Baseball Game Preview: Caldwell Parish Spartans vs. Vidalia Vikings

For the first time this season, Caldwell Parish will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Vidalia Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Caldwell Parish has four straight victories, Vidalia has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Caldwell Parish's win against Winnfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Caldwell Parish had just enough and edged out Winnfield 9-7. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Tigers on their field since March 14, 2017.

Meanwhile, Vidalia came up short against Union Parish on Monday, falling 15-6.

Vidalia's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Caldwell Parish, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.

Caldwell Parish might still be hurting after the 10-4 loss they got from Vidalia when the teams last played back in April of 2015. Can Caldwell Parish avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
