Baseball Game Preview: Greenwood Gators vs. Logan County Cougars

The Greenwood Gators are taking a road trip to face off against the Logan County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Greenwood's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Logan County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Greenwood is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Arnold just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marlins. The matchup marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Logan County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 9-3 to Apollo.

Logan County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Holloway, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Logan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Greenwood beat Logan County 7-3 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
