Softball Recap: Vandalia Takes a Loss

Vandalia fell victim to North Mac and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Vandals in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Madison Lupton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

Vandalia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for North Mac, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Looking ahead, Vandalia will square off against Altamont at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so the Vandals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Mac, they are taking a road trip to take on Tri-City at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
