Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ty Gibbs and Ford Deshazo

Grace Christian Academy lost against The Webb School back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Grace Christian Academy Lions fell to The Webb School Feet 61-56. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Feet are ranked 38th).

Ford Deshazo and Ty Gibbs certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Deshazo went 8 for 20 en route to 20 points and eight boards, while Gibbs went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Lohrding, who went 5 for 12 en route to 11 points and six rebounds.

Kipras Redeckas was nothing short of spectacular for The Webb School: he went 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points and seven boards. Joel Wyatt was another key player, putting up five points in addition to ten rebounds and six steals.

Grace Christian Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for The Webb School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Grace Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-38 loss against Franklin Road Academy on the 21st. The Webb School has also already played their next contest, an 81-49 win against Middle Tennessee Christian on the 21st.
