Football Recap: Beauregard Comes Up Short

After soaring to 34 points the game before, Beauregard was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 33-6 loss at the hands of the Elmore County Panthers. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lane Wilson threw for 107 yards and one touchdown on only six passes. Jordan Jackson was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards. On the ground, Tae Foreman rushed for 61 yards.

Elmore County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gage Davis, who threw for 294 yards and five TDs, and also rushed for 34 yards. Those five passing touchdowns gave Davis a new career-high. 122 of Davis' passing yards were hauled in by Justin Brooks, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Beauregard's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Elmore County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beauregard will take on Andalusia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Elmore County, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central of Clay County at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
