Softball Game Preview: Lone Jack Mules vs. Concordia Fighting Orioles

Lone Jack hasn't had much luck against Concordia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mules will face off against the Fighting Orioles at 4:00 p.m. Lone Jack is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Lone Jack will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Concordia, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mules walked away with a 7-4 win over the Fighting Orioles on Friday. The game was the first time the Mules have beaten the Fighting Orioles on their field since March 20, 2024.

For Concordia's part, Olivia Hemme was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Hemme has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Hemme wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cheyanne Fitzpatrick, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Concordia and bumps their season record up to 17-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Lone Jack, their record is now 8-6.
