Bucklin gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Kinsley Coyotes. This was a revenge game for the Red Aces: when they faced off against the Coyotes on Thursday, they had to take a 4-0 defeat.

Lucas Kirk made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Kirk was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bucklin let Kolson Cook and Nick Feikert run wild. Cook scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Feikert scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs Feikert has posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Bucklin back to even at 1-1. As for Kinsley, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bucklin will venture away from home to face off against Elkhart at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kinsley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on April 10.
