Recap: Ambridge Bridgers vs. Ellwood City Wolverine
The Ambridge Bridgers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Ellwood City by a score of 95-82 on Friday. The victory was just what Ambridge needed coming off of a 77-52 loss in their prior match.
When it comes to explaining why Ellwood City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joseph Roth. Despite the final result, he scored 33 points along with 9 assists and 8 rebounds. The match was Roth's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Smiley, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Ambridge's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Ellwood City, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ambridge's road trip will continue as they head out to face South Side at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. As for Ellwood City, they will challenge Shenango at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Shenango is ranked 139th, while Ellwood City is ranked 136th).
