Coral Park won the last time they faced Varela, and Angel Lara did his part to make sure it happened again. The Coral Park Rams walked away with a 59-50 victory over the Varela Vipers on Thursday thanks in part to Lara, who went 12 of 20 en route to 27 points along with eight assists and seven boards. The contest was his seventh in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Edwin Soto, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Varela's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alex Perez, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds, and Aaron Reyes, who scored 12 points and five boards.

Coral Park now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Varela, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coral Park has already played their next matchup, a 76-56 loss against Dade Christian on the 27th. As for Varela, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-49 defeat against Braddock on the 24th.
