Basketball Game Preview: The Pinnacle Timberwolves vs. Lake County Panthers

The Pinnacle Timberwolves will face off against the Lake County Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Lake County will be up against a hot The Pinnacle squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Pinnacle walked away with a 66-55 win over Platte Canyon on Tuesday. While the Timberwolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake County). They really took it to South Park for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-22 victory. The Panthers pushed the score to 59-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Burros had no chance of recovering from.

The Pinnacle's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lake County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

The Pinnacle was able to grind out a solid win over Lake County when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 49-41. Will The Pinnacle repeat their success, or does Lake County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
