Basketball Recap: Sunny Hills' Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sunny Hills waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 61-53 victory over the Mark Keppel Aztecs.

Sunny Hills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ze'Brien Watkins out in front who went 6 of 14 en route to 17 points along with eight boards and five steals. Those five steals gave Watkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raeden Bobadilla, who made all 7 shots he took to post 18 points.

Sunny Hills has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Mark Keppel, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Sunny Hills and Mark Keppel should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Sunny Hills (ranked 307th) will meet Sierra Vista (ranked 911th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Mark Keppel (ranked 197th) will meet Jurupa Hills (ranked 954th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
