Baseball Game Preview: Union Redhawks vs. Bartlesville Bruins

The Union Redhawks will venture away from home to face off against the Bartlesville Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Union has four straight wins, Bartlesville has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Union's victory against Coweta wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Redhawks had just enough and edged out the Tigers 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redhawks have posted against the Tigers since March 4, 2016.

Meanwhile, Bartlesville fell victim to Collinsville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals.

Union pushed their record up to 11-17 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Bartlesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-15.

Union was able to grind out a solid victory over Bartlesville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. Will the Redhawks repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
