On Friday, Sports & Medical Sciences Academy faced Ellington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers fell just short of the Ellington Knights by a score of 65-63. The Tigers lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-41 score last time.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Ellington, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.
