Basketball Recap: Aj Koontz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bedford over Forest Hills

Bedford lost against Forest Hills back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bedford Bisons took a 72-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Hills Rangers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), the Bisons still had to take the loss.

Bedford's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aj Koontz, who went 9 of 12 to rack up 18 points. Those 18 points gave Koontz a new career-high. Owen Tedrow was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Forest Hills found their leader in sophomore Dylan Stohon, who went 9 for 16 en route to 22 points along with eight boards and three steals. The match was Stohon's 19th in a row with at least 16 points. Cameron Middleton also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Bedford dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Forest Hills, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Looking ahead, Bedford and Bishop Carroll will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Bedford is facing Bishop Carroll at the right time seeing as Bishop Carroll is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Forest Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
