Baseball Recap: Scottsburg Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corydon Central, Scottsburg was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the North Harrison Cougars. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Garrett McClellan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cale Barger was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Ty Roberts was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Scottsburg pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for North Harrison, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Coming up, Scottsburg will challenge Jennings County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Harrison, they will face off against Borden at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
