Basketball Recap: Roaring Fork Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ethan Wilson and Lucas Carballeira

Roaring Fork lost against Plateau Valley back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Roaring Fork Rams fell 48-39 to the Plateau Valley Cowboys. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly nine points.

Roaring Fork's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lucas Carballeira, who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points, and Ethan Wilson, who posted ten points. The contest was Carballeira's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lawson Kreiling, who put up six points.

Plateau Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Vig led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. What's more, Vig also racked up seven assists, the most he's had since back in January. Jackson Bevan was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Roaring Fork and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Plateau Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Roaring Fork is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against Weld Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roaring Fork is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for Plateau Valley, they will face off against Sargent at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
