Football Game Preview: Montgomery Red Raiders vs. South Williamsport Mountaineers

Montgomery is 1-9 against South Williamsport since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. Montgomery is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

On Friday, Montgomery humbled Holy Redeemer with a 57-6 victory. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Montgomery didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Austin Luckenbill and Trace Furman. Logan Joy was another major factor on D, making ten total tackles and defending three passes.

Meanwhile, South Williamsport's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Muncy by a score of 28-20.

Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for South Williamsport, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Montgomery against South Williamsport in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-14 win. In that matchup, the Red Raiders amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
