Basketball Recap: Harvest Christian Comes Up Short

Harvest Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Bishop Gorman Crusaders 61-24.

Bishop Gorman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianna Mahfood out in front who posted 11 points and four steals. Mahfood has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Halle Lowe, who had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Harvest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bishop Gorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Harvest Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wichita Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Bishop Gorman, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-37 loss against Christian Heritage on the 28th.
