Softball Recap: Shoals Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Shoals Christian had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Phillips Bears 9-3 on Monday. The Flame not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th.

Natalee Saylor was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Sarah Davis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Savannah May was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Shoals Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Phillips, they are on a 36-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, Shoals Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheffield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flame are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 20-game losing streak. As for Phillips, they will face off against Red Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
