Baseball Recap: Carter Comes Up Short

Carter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 9-1 to the Kimball Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.

Pablo Daurte spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on five hits. That one earned run gave him a new career-low.

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Kimball, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Carter is set to face off against their familiar foe Pinkston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kimball will square off against rival Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Kimball sitting on four straight victories and Lincoln on three.
