Softball Recap: North Miami Victorious

It's playoff time, and North Miami had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Tri-Central Trojans by a score of 5-2 on Monday.

Ashley Sumpter-Music made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 contests.

In other batting news, Jordyn Hackworth was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

North Miami's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Tri-Central, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Coming up, North Miami will face off against Cowan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
