Softball Recap: Mora Has No Trouble Against Pine City

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crosby-Ironton, Mora was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 27-20 margin over the Pine City Dragons. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the match before.

Rhiannon Ashworth was a standout: she fired off three triples, seven RBI, and four runs while going 5-for-6. Another player making a difference was Jennae Szucs, who went 3-for-5 with six runs, five RBI, and one stolen base.

Mora always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Mora back to even at 3-3. As for Pine City, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mora will take on Milaca at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pine City, they will face off against Aitkin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gobblers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight.
