Baseball Recap: Bayshore Finds Home Field Redemption Against Gulf Coast HEAT

There's no place like home for Bayshore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over Gulf Coast HEAT on Friday. The Bruins' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Diego Villegas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those no hits gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Tucker Pope was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Abraham Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bayshore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gulf Coast HEAT only posted an OBP of .222.

The win got Bayshore back to even at 2-2. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayshore will face off against Saint Stephen's Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they will host Central Florida Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
