Soccer Game Preview: Dubuque Senior vs. Iowa City

The Dubuque Senior Rams will head out on the road to take on the Iowa City Little Hawks at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Dubuque Senior's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Dubuque Senior came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-0 to Linn-Mar. While losing is never fun, Dubuque Senior can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Linn-Mar are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Iowa City sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Kennedy on Tuesday.

Iowa City has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those nine contests. As for Dubuque Senior, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4-2.
