Volleyball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Laramie

Douglas faced Laramie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bearcats fell 2-0 to the Plainsmen. The Bearcats have struggled against the Plainsmen recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

While Douglas was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23.

Leah Ewing paced Douglas' offense, picking up 11 kills. Ewing got some help from Avynn Yost and her 18 assists.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Laramie, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Douglas has already played their next contest (against Wheatland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Laramie, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Kelly Walsh on the 27th.
