Softball Recap: Baldwin Starts Season with Victory Against Shipley

Baldwin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over Shipley on Friday. For the Bears, this counts as revenge for the 12-5 victory Shipley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Jules Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Baldwin got a massive performance out of Charly Landow, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Addison Milner was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Shipley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Baldwin will head out on the road to square off against Friends' Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shipley, they will be playing at home against Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
