Baseball Recap: High Point Central Takes a Loss

High Point Central had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it 11. They came up short against the Rockingham County Cougars, falling 21-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-0 on Tuesday.

As for Rockingham County, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1. Considering they have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Rockingham County's part, Hudson Deel was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Deel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Matthews, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

High Point Central has already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against Dudley on the 10th. As for Rockingham County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 win against McMichael on the 9th.
