Soccer Recap: Shaw Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Shaw unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Columbus Blue Devils who were credited with the victory on Thursday. The Columbus Blue Devils got it done in the shootout by posting one goals to the Shaw Raiders' zero. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Kelvin Reyez and Andres Bonilla scored all three of Shaw's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaw is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus, they will head out to face off against Auburn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
