Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwood). They blew past the Mansfield Wolverines 21-1 on Tuesday. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Chase Basco was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Northwood: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 4-10 otherwise. Basco was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season.
