Basketball Recap: Harlem Takes a Loss

Harlem lost against Evans last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Harlem Bulldogs had to suffer through a 51-21 loss at the hands of the Evans Knights. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Knights are ranked 69th).

Evans was led to victory by Chabria Tate and Kimariya Hinton. Tate almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, while Hinton dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tate has scored at least a third of Evans' points.

Harlem's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Evans, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Harlem will welcome Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Harlem and seven for Westside. As for Evans, they will square off against Lincoln County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
