Softball Recap: Fort Defiance Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Fort Defiance got themselves on the board against Staunton on Tuesday, but Staunton never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Indians have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Fort Defiance has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Staunton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fort Defiance is set to square off against their familiar foe Buffalo Gap at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Staunton will challenge rival Stuarts Draft at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
